Blue Yonder was founded in 2008 by the former CERN researcher Prof. Dr. Michael Feindt in Karlsruhe and enables retailers to digitalize and optimize their supply chain and merchandising processes on the basis of artificial intelligence. Through automated decisions, profits and customer benefits can be significantly increased.
At the time of its foundation, the company was able to benefit in several ways from its connection to the Otto Group. Right from the start, Blue Yonder's team was able to access a broad network of partners, enabling them to optimally develop and continuously improve new ideas and solutions. While Blue Yonder benefits from Otto's wide range of experience and know-how in the retail sector, Blue Yonder can now return this through its extensive expertise in the field of artificial intelligence and machine learning.
Today, Blue Yonder employs more than 100 people at its locations in Karlsruhe, Hamburg, London and Dallas. Blue Yonder has received the Experton Big Data Leader Award 2016, the BT Retailer Week Technology Award, the German Innovation Award 2015, the IGD Award 2017 and was one of the Top 100 Innovators 2017.
